Blessed us with his cherished Sweet Potato Pie recipe 2 years before his passing. Once he shared it with me, I immediately baked it in front of him following every step he told me. Once the pie was baked we tried it and it didn’t taste like grandad’s special pie, when I asked what I did wrong he said “you did everything right but one thing, you didn’t pray first.” because of granddad all of our pies and desserts are baked with a prayer. It’s what makes each bite so special!
